Chennai: Students of SRM University have made their very own satellite which the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has promised to launch later in 2011. The satellite is the size of a large gift box, costs Rs 2 crore and took two years of hard work.
"The main objective is to measure carbon dioxide and water vapour in the cities above India. And to check how much Indian cities are contributing to climate change," says SRM-SAT Project student Guruditya Sinha.
