Like you,many people r confused about LCD and LED's....Basicaly both are LCD screens but the main difference is technology used to illuminate the pixel that make up on the screen....
A purely LCD uses CCFL or a type of fluorescent light,while LED uses light emitting diode to illuminate the pixel
LED has 3 main advantages:
1. LED screens are much thinner than the LCD screens..so space LED takes little space on the pannel constuction.
2. LED's consume less energy,almost 40% less,than LCD'..so u'll end up spending less on ur power bills..
3. CFL lighting in LCD use toxic material like mercury...LED avoids such type of compounds...overall LED is eco friendly..
For a 32 incher,i would suggest the SAMSUNG C6900 as LED option
n SAMSUNG 5-series or ONIDA KY ROCK as LCD option...
